At Block Portrait Studios in West St. Paul, we’ve created a one-of-a-kind birthday experience designed to make your child feel like an absolute superstar. Your child will feel confident, seen, and celebrated on their day!

This day is all about your birthday child. This is not your average photo session. Think curated outfits, favorite props, and a whole lot of personality. We’ll capture their growth, quirks, milestones, and magic—all in one unforgettable experience.

This VIP portrait session is built to highlight everything that makes your birthday child amazing: their personality, their style, their interests, and that one-of-a-kind sparkle that’s uniquely them.

Whether they show up in a superhero costume, sparkly dress, sports uniform, or their go-to favorite outfit, this experience is designed to boost their confidence and capture exactly who they are at this unforgettable age.

• 2 outfits per session (think: dressy, casual, creative — even costumes! One outfit is often picked out by the parent, and the other outfit is completely chosen by your child)
• Props encouraged: Feel free to bring along musical instruments, tiaras, stuffed animals, favorite toys, a "smash" cake or treat, or birthday balloons.
• Creative freedom encouraged: Your child will help lead posing, try fun expressions, and play during the shoot.

This is about more than just taking pictures. It’s about building confidence, making memories, and giving your child the chance to feel like a star.

📍 Where & What's Included

The Birthday Club experience is available exclusively at our West St. Paul studio.

Weekday sessions are $95 and include:

• A $200 product credit to use toward custom wall art, heirloom albums, or a portrait box, as well as specialty birthday pricing on products
• A special birthday gift from us
• The VIP treatment from start to finish

👣 How to Join the Birthday Club:

1. Schedule your session date + time below.
2. Pay your invoice to reserve your spot.
3. Don’t forget to book any haircuts if needed prior to the photo shoot.
4. Gather outfits, props, a water bottle, and snack for your session.
5. Arrive on time — sessions are booked back to back.
   
   

✨ After the Portraits

You and your child will choose your favorite images for artwork — whether it’s an heirloom album, a beautifully framed portrait, or a custom image box. Professional retouching includes minor adjustments (glasses glare, flyaways, blemish cleanup). We do not remove scars or moles.

Digital files of each ordered portrait are included.

A Note on the Experience:

To give your child the undivided attention they deserve, we kindly ask that only the birthday child and their parent(s) or guardian attend the session—no siblings or additional family members, please. This one-on-one time helps them feel truly celebrated and keeps the focus exactly where it should be: on them.

Many parents even take the day off to make this part of a memorable birthday outing. Nearby favorite spots include the Minnesota Children's Museum + Candyland, the Science Museum, Red Balloon Bookshop + Grand Ole Creamery, and Can Can Wonderland.
